ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE DEATHS: PROSECUTING THE DRUG SELLERS FOR MURDER

A Community Session to discuss the ramifications of viewing the drug seller as a murderer. What are the results of these prosecutions for the individuals involved, for the criminal justice system, and for society? Is this justice? Or, with the Drug War increasingly being viewed as a failure, do these prosecutions provide a justification not only for the continuation, but for a ramping up of the policies promulgated by those that believe that incarceration is the way to “win” the so-called War on Drugs?
