Tamara Olt, MD, BNM Board Member, was recently featured in week.com in 25 Women in Leadership news.

On April 29th, 2012 Dr. Tamara Olt experienced the worst tragedy imaginable, the loss of her son, Joshua to a heroin overdose.

Tamara took courageous action as a result and she and her husband created the JOLT Foundation for the prevention of overdose deaths and harm reduction for those affected by opioid addiction. This was the first for Central Illinois. This foundation seeks treatment and harm reduction methods and it has saved lives throughout our community. Dr. Olt turned her tragedy into a way to help others.

What a truly loving and giving thing to do. Let’s welcome Dr. Tamara Olt to the 25 Women in Leadership.
